In Gaithersburg, many low-income families and youth face ongoing mobility barriers due to unreliable transit, long metro-to-bus transfer times (typically 15-30 minute wait times), and multiple different providers making it difficult to navigate. These challenges limit access to school, jobs, and community activities—especially when parental transportation isn’t available—reinforcing social exclusion and restricting upward mobility. -SDG 11

The proposed solution must have scalability and not overcomplicate the current systems in place I.e. reduction of negative implications on community such as large increases in construction blocking roads and congesting them further.
