Journey to our Problem Statement
Green House Gases (GHG) Emissions
- In 2018, the city of Calgary's GHG emissions were 38% higher than the desired 2020 target levels. [1]
Suburban Lifestyle
- High proportion of single-detached homes, and row-homes and low population density areas
- Comfort and convenience
Transportation

- High Car Dependency
- Low Sustainable Transportation Use
What Success Would Look Like:
Increased proportion of users on public transit
- Reduction from 75% to 25% drive-only users to and from work [5], in the next 15 years.
Improved quality and safety of the public transport as a function of the community
- Ensuring that there is zero crime associated with Public Transit and zero Covid-19 cases, in the next 10 years.
- Increased frequency of service synchronous to community's needs of transportation
