The How to Change the World | Western Fall 2022 was a tremendous success, bringing together 250+ individuals from around the Western Campus and the London Community!

It is thrilling to experience how people from all walks of life and fields of study can come together and enthusiastically tackle some of the world's most critical challenges. Participants spent 3 intense days collaborating with Local Stakeholders, Teaching Staff, Mentors, and Experts with an unwavering passion, resulting in 36 unique solutions.

Our in-person Western program brought together 144 participants from many different fields of expertise and from across the Western Campus. Even with such a diverse group of individuals, the common mindset was incredibly apparent; a mindset that we describe as "when working together even a small team of committed individuals can make a positive and lasting impact."

20+ Teaching Staff

Our wonderful teaching staff was comprised of educators from Western Campus along with former How to Change the World program alumni from around the world! Their role was critical in creating a nurturing environment that empowered all others to effectively collaborate during our 3-day program.

80+ Mentors and Local Stakeholders

Experienced mentors and local stakeholders provided essential insights to participants to help them understand key areas of the challenge. They also provided critical guidance enabling participants to take their ideas to new heights.

4 Global Sustainability Challenges

All of our challenges begin with a global approach influenced by the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. With independent research, we identify geographic regions of focus and begin establishing strong relationships with local stakeholders.

Through these connections, we explore and understand the local context, which shapes our challenge brief. Our Western Fall 2022 program presented the opportunity for participants to tackle the following challenges:
